The Member of Parliament (MP) for Afram Plains South Constituency, Hon. Eric Osei-Owusu on 30th March, 2020 presented 100pcs of Veronica Buckets, 10 Box of Hand washing soap, Digital Thermometers and Hand sanitizer to the KwahuAfram Plains Health Directorate and the people of his constituency as part of his efforts to prevent the spread of the deadly Covid-19.
At a short ceremony to present the items, Hon Osei- Owusu said he was inspired by the singular need to protect health officials and the public to prevent the devastation caused by COVID-19.
Speaking in his presentation, Hon. Eric Osei-Owusu was optimistic that the items will go a long way to help people in the constituency fight the virus.
He expressed the hope that the items presented will help in protecting the staff of the GHS as they go about their work.
“We appreciate the danger that comes with contracting the diseases especially those at the frontline in defending the populace against the disease and we must all support you to be able to protect us,” the MP said as he called for ceaseless support to the GHS.
The District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. George Ofori thanked Hon MP for the presentation of the various items. He mentioned that the items is going to help the people to adhere to the protocols to prevent the Covid-19. He urged the people to take advantage of these items to wash their hands with soap regularly under running water, use the hand sanitizer and also observe the social distance practices.
The District Director of Health for the Kwahu Afram Plains South, Madam Joana Amankwah thanked the Hon MP and assured that the directorate will distribute the items across the various Health facilities both private and public to equip them in the fight of the Coronavirus.“We are going to distribute the items to the various health facilities in the District including the CHPS zones. The Directorate receiving Veronica Buckets, Hand washing soaps and Hand Sanitizer, I want to say a big thank you to Hon. MPand we are most grateful to him”, she said.
